I'm back.

I've been a bum. Busy with work, playing too many video games, working on a book, coaching a high school team, watching my beloved Cardinals take the World Series and leading an active social life have left little time for blogging. Plus, the fire to write just hasn't been there for awhile. It comes and goes. I've got little to say right now. This election cycle has been thoroughly depressing for its ugliness and it's relative dearth of meaningful discussion. For the record, I think Ford will lose, Allen will lose and Jim Talent will hold onto his seat. I have no reason to think that beyond my instincts. I live in a very liberal part of town and the Talent/McCaskill ratio of yard signs is about 3/5, which isn't good for the challenger. Agreed, that observation is totally unscientific, but I also know that the out-staters hate St. Louisans (which both of them are) and so will default with the conservative. Just my thoughts. Take a look at the best writer in English language, Mark Steyn (www.steynonline is his website) in an interview with Michelle Malkin. Every time the guy writes or speaks, he really makes one think. It's pretty long, but well worth the ten minutes
